Wow! This was amazing. I received this book from NetGalley. I actually requested it because I grabbed the full book for free on Amazon and thought I might as well start with the prequel. I'm so glad I did because I'm seriously impressed with this short story! The writing was beautiful and I loved the mystery that surrounds Ethan. I love him by the way and I can't wait to read more about him. I'm so happy it's in his point of view because I love male POVs. And this one is really well done. I also must admit I got teary-eyed when buddy died in Ethan's arms. It was so sad but that shows how this author can really bring out emotion in someone. So well done! I can't wait to actually read Brightest Kind of Darkness!
